Ingredients
- 3-1/2 cups Flour
- 1-1/2 cups Shortening
- 1 cup White Sugar
- 1/4 cup Honey
- 1 tbl Orange Extract
- 1 tbl Vanilla Extract
- 2 Egg Whites
Method
- Using a large mixing bowl, combine the shortening, sugar, honey, egg whites, vanilla extract and orange extract until light.
- Gradually sift in the flour while stirring continuously.
- Roll out the dough on a floured board into foot-long logs.
- Place the logs on a greased baking tray.
- Place in an oven preheated to 350 F and bake for 30 minutes.
- Lift out of the oven and cut into thick slices.
Bake the slices again for another 10 minutes before serving.
- Biscotti should be stored in an airtight container to preserve taste and texture.
