Ingredients
- 2 cups Flour
- 1-1/2 cup Milk
- 1 cup Demerera Sugar
- 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips
- 1/2 cup Shortening
- 1/2 cup White Sugar
- 3 tsp Baking Powder
- 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
- 3 Eggs (Beaten)
- 1 pkt Caramel Frosting Mix
Method
- Using a medium mixing bowl, combine the flour, milk, demerera sugar, chocolate chips, shortening, white sugar and vanilla extract.
- Sieve in the baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- While stirring, mix in the beaten eggs until smooth.
- Pour the mixture into a greased 8“ cake tin.
- Place in an oven preheated to 350 F and bake for 45 minutes.
- Lift out and cool on a wire rack.
- Make up the caramel frosting according to the recipe on the packet.
- Glaze the cake with the caramel frosting.
- Sprinkle generously with sugar to finish.
