Ingredients
- 2 cups Flour
- 1-1/2 cups Sugar
- 1 cup Milk
- 1 cup Cornmeal
- 1/2 cup Butter (Melted)
- 1/2 cup Chocolate
- 1/2 cup Almonds (Chopped)
- 1/2 tbl Almond Essence
- 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
- 4 Eggs (Beaten)
Method
- Place the dark cooking chocolate in a bowl and melt over a saucepan full of hot water.
- Take a mixing bowl and combine the beaten eggs, sugar and butter until fluffy.
- Now fold in the ground almonds and melted chocolate.
- Using a separate bowl, mix the flour, cornmeal, baking powder and milk together. Then add to the creamed mixture.
- Pour the batter into a greased cake tin.
- Place in an oven preheated to 350 F and bake for 60 minutes.
- Lift out and place on a wire rack to cool.
