Ingredients
- 1-1/2 cups Water (Boiling)
- 1-1/4 cups Flour
- 1 cup Pecan Nuts (Chopped)
- 1 cup Demerera Sugar
- 3/4 cup White Sugar
- 1/2 cup Chocolate (Unsweetened)
- 6 tbl Milk
- 2 tbl Vinegar
- 2 tbl Butter
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/4 tsp Salt
Method
- Take a large bowl and combine the baking soda, salt, flour and sugars.
- Then, melt the butter and chocolate in a bowl over a saucepan of hot water.
- Using a small bowl, mix together the vinegar and milk.
- Add to the chocolate mixture.
- Pour the chocolate mixture into the dry flour mix and stir continuously.
- Fold in the chopped pecan nuts.
- Pour into a 8“ wide, greased cake pan.
- Combine 1/4 cup of unsweetended chocolate with the boiling water and blend. Then pour over the cake.
- Place in an oven preheated to 350 F and bake for about 45 minutes.
- Remove from oven and place on a wire rack to cool.
