Chocolate Mousse Cake

Mixture Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup Hazelnuts (Ground)
  • 1/2 cup White Sugar
  • 2 tbl Cocoa Powder (Unsweetened)
  • 4 Egg Whites

Topping Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cup Cooking Chocolate (Dark)
  • 1 cup Whipping Cream
  • 1/3 cup White Sugar
  • 4 Egg Yolks (Beaten)

Method

  1. To make the mixture, take a mixing bowl and combine the egg whites and sugar until stiffened.
  2. Now fold in the cocoa powder and ground hazelnuts.
  3. Pour batter into a 9“ cake tin lined with greased paper.
  4. Now for the topping, place the dark cooking chocolate in a bowl and melt over a saucepan of hot water.
  5. Mix together the beaten eggs, sugar and melted dark cooking chocolate until thick.
  6. Generously smooth over the top of the cake.
  7. Whip the cream and use to decorate!
