German Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2/3 cup Flour
  • 1/2 cup Mixed Nuts (Chopped)
  • 1/2 cup Coconut Flakes
  • 1/3 cup Water
  • 1/3 cup Unsweetened Cocoa
  • 1/4 cup Butter (Softened)
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 3 Eggs (Beaten)
  • 2 Egg Yolks
  • 1 can Condensed Milk

Method

  1. Take a mixing bowl and combine the coconut flakes, chopped mixed nuts, vanilla extract, vanilla extract, milk and egg yolks.
  2. Pour the batter into a greased 9“ edged pan.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together 3 whole eggs until light and fluffy.
  4. Fold in the sugar, condensed milk and cocoa.
  5. Pour over the cake mix in the pan.
  6. Place in an oven preheated to 350 F and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Lift out and place on a wire rack to cool.
  8. Sprinkle the top generously with sugar.
  9. Place on a flat surface and roll up.
  10. Put the rolled up cake onto a serving platter, with the seam down.
  11. For the topping, take another bowl and melt 2oz of cooking chocolate on top of a saucepan full of warm water.
  12. Add 1/2 a teaspoon of vanilla extract and 2 tablespoons of metled butter and stir well.
  13. Drizzle over the top of the cake and smooth out.
