Mississippi Mud Cake

Ingredients

  • 1-3/4 cups Flour
  • 1-1/2 cups White Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Butter (Softened)
  • 1/2 cup Whipping Cream
  • 1/2 cup Black Coffee (Brewed)
  • 2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 4 Eggs (Beaten)
  • 4 Chocolate Bars

Method

  1. Take a large bowl and combine the whipping cream, brewed black coffee, flour, softened butter, salt, baking powder and vanilla extract.
  2. Pour into a 8“ wide, greased cake pan.
  3. Place in an oven preheated to 350 F and bake for about 60 minutes.
  4. Remove from oven and place on a wire rack.
  5. Place the 4 chocolate bars in a bowl over a saucepan full of hot water.
  6. After they have melted, spread the chocolate over the top of the cake.
