Molten Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Bitter-sweet Chocolate (Finely Chopped)
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet Chocolate (Finely Chopped)
  • 3/4 cup Butter (Softened)
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1/3 cup Flour
  • 1-1/2 tbl Cocoa Powder (Unsweetened)
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 tsp Instant Coffee (Granulated)
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 4 Eggs (Beaten)
  • Black Cherry Sauce
  • Whipping Cream

Method

  1. Put the chocolate in a bowl and melt over a saucepan full of hot water.
  2. Stir in the butter and remove from heat.
  3. Take a mixing bowl and combine the sugar and eggs until fluffy.
  4. Sift in the flour, salt and coffee granules.
  5. Fold in the vanilla extract then stir for a couple of minutes.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased cake mould.
  7. Place the moulds on a baking tray.
  8. Put in an oven preheated to 350 F and bake for 15 minutes.
  9. Remove from the oven and let the cool for a minute or two.
  10. To serve, tip the molten chocolate cakes out of their moulds.
  11. Some whipped cream and black cherry sauce is ideal for a finishing touch.
